Looks like it's a bitch to change ? And when I say bitch I don't mean someone You cuddle up to at night and sneak out from in the morning ! Thanks WVleo
gonna sleep on it and hit it hard in the AM, Thanks for all the help so far Guys ! When I unplug the conection from the regulator at the front lower right side of the engine both the male and female red 0.00 red on the part black on the ground. then I did the male side to the female side again 0.00 with bike off and with bike running . this is where we are at tonite . See Ya in the AM .........Later WVleo
I don't remember which side is male vs female, but you want the connector side that runs down into the motor case, not the side that goes to the regulator. Measure ACROSS the 2 pins in that connector for AC voltage ( it should be between 22+ volts) with the motor at a fast idle.
Thanks Dragon Master, I found the connection You were mentioning, behind My crash bars . Can't get that frigging connection open, but will try and get it done. .....WVleo

Yea, it is a "snug" connector, but it DOES just pull apart.
Yes it does just indeed come apart, needed more coffee in Me . Pulled the connector from the Voltage regulator that goes to the stator and with the bike not running it red 28.5 . Will test at idle when She who pays all My bills awakes as it's early am Saturday !. If this looks right , start dreaming up answers to My " Spent all day Saturday changing My Voltage Regulator " thread . LOL LOL ! ....Again thanks for all the help . I am greatful I didn't have to deal with any " Do a Search crap " which I did but I rode the little yellow bus as a kid for a reason LOL LOL !!!!!.....WVleo
Remember when checking the stator that its AC voltage output should vary from a low in the 20s to a high in the 60s, 70s or 80s. The voltage goes up as the RPM's are increased.
Oh, and when you put the connector back together, use some dielectric grease on the contacts. That connector gets soaked with water coming off the front wheel when riding in the rain
