I'm still running a pair of flightline boots from my Navy days with goodyear tread ... issued in 1993 ... yes, that is 93!! Just clean the leather and wax it up, they should last a lifetime.
Remembering back, they were the most painful blistering pieces of crap ever handed out. Within a few weeks of daily wear, they were more comfortable than a new pair of running shoes and still are.
