You may want the Quiet Baffles too. They'll bring the tone down just a little and keep out the tinny sound.
That's one thing I've noticed with the V&H's as well, that they have kind of a 'tinny tone' to them.
I prefer the somewhat 'deeper tone' you get from either the original 'for off road use only' Screamin' Eagle mufflers or the easier to find Rush mufflers.
Hey Curt1953, Beautiful Sportster !
Sounds good too. The chrome belt guard & sprocket cover is on my want list. I too like the W.G. skull collection. Thus far, all I've gotten is the gas cap cover / swing arm pivot bolt cover & valve stem caps.
Thanks drummer, I now have about 200 miles on the new V&H slip ons and yes they are much louder than the Cycle Shacks now. The bike sounds wicked at idle at traffic lights. I also get a little bit of popping sometimes on decel but nothing to worry about untill I get a high flow filter and V&H Fuelpak next year. Also, I have a handlebar mount on order for my camera and i'll get some ride videos posted in a week or two.
Here's one of 4 videos I did today with my oldest daughter holding the camera. I ask her to get the bike in some of the video if she can, you can see how much she listen to me. LOL Be sure to check out the rest of my rides today.
