I've read on the forums since I got mine, that on EFI bikes, it's moot. They burn very clean to begin with, so plug readings are not what they used to be. Dyno sniffing or wide band installed is the only real way to know for sure.

That is an extreme level of paying the Harley tax! All you need is the less restrictive filter/mufflers and some way to deal with the change. The factory reflash, if there is such a beast any more, is all that is/was needed. The SERT/SEST is one step above that. They are like the PC but they change the tables IN THE FACTORY ECM. It's just not an add on box that you have to fight to make fit somewhere. And it's HD, so it works. Take it to have it dyno'd, with PC, they change it's tables, with SERT/SEST; it's tables. That's all it really needs to have done. With the latest version of SEST, you get the smart tune, you go ride/record and it makes the changes for you, kind of a "real world dyno". Perfect like a dyno...no, is a dyno real world on the street...no. It's not "autotune" because you have to work. You have to hook up the VCI and ride your bike, disconnect it and download it to the computer. I had very good results with the PC5. My bike was a surging nightmare with my V&H slip-ons and SE intake and fuelpak. It smoothed it right up, but my mileage went way down after the installation of the O2 eliminators. There is an autotune for the PC5, but also a spagetti of wires that go with it. It's your money and your choice, but wow. That's a whole lotta money for other goodies!

Well the service manual doesn't seem to think so. The show what they consider a perfect looking plug to compare yours with.

First, to clarify for you new guys, a remap ("reflash") is a one size fit's all program change to the existing ECM. It is designed specifically to work with the SE A/C and SE exhaust. If you have one of the better, higher flowing A/C's and/or exhaust systems, this is really not the best choice.

If you choose a Harley SERT/SEST, be aware that once one of these units are installed, it is permanently married to the bike. It cannot be sold, moved, or reused on another bike if you decide to trade-up later. HINT: Don't even think about buying a used one on E-bay.

Not arguing with anyone here, just clarifying some info.

Oh, I got the same pics in my service manual. I haven't pulled plugs to even look at them. Just passing on what I've read on the forums.

When I did the service on mine my plug looked exactly like the one pictured.Which to me looks a little lean. I would have liked to have seen it a little more on the tan side.

Even if you get the dealer to remap your bike its still going to be on the lean side.Plus my dealer wanted $180.00 to mess mine up. Better to purchase a fuel management system and use a custom map and get it right IMO.

Ok, I have found out. The PC5 is available for the 2010 fat bob. $299.99 shipped. I already have experience with the PC line and know how to use it. Hopefully, PC will send me a map for my set up. Otherwise, it's kinda tune and take to the dyno for a full tune.

If you purchase it from Fuel Moto you'll get the map to match your set-up.

The 'joys' of EFI.....

So much easier to 'fine tune' a carb when making various performance upgrades....
