Default Another handlebar question

Hi all,
Im new here and I own a 96 1200c. Im looking to change handlebars and Im thinking about a stock set of wideglide bars, but what I want to know is how high can I go before I have to change the cables and lines? Im not the most mechanically inclined person around and Id rather not get into that unless I absolutely have to.

You should be able to pick up 3 inches +/- by rerouting your cables behind the triple trees. Other than that you will cause binding problems with your throttle cables when you turn your front wheel from side to side it will cause the throttle to stick-not good! You have to keep an arch in the cables for them to work properly.
