Python pipes; back to box-stock
Have an 04 883 custom. Bought it last July. First Harley. Love It! I've owned just about everything else. Last 3 were BMW's. I'm an old Fart (61) and bought it from an older Fart. Had straight Pythons. Sounded really good but too loud for me. I bought short baffles, but still not what I want. (too many BMW's) Plan to trade someone for stock pipes. Question is, can they be removed as a unit by removing all attachments and exaust manifold bolts or will they have to be taken apart piece by piece? I know most will ask... Why would you do that. I've asked myself that too. In past years, I've destroyed just about every quiet exaust known to man. Just getting old I guess. Still love to ride and party. HA! Anyhow; I plan to do the evil deed in my garage and want to know the quickest way to get it done.

Are the Pythons mounted with the original crossover/mounting bracket? If not, you will need the bracket, two header pipes with heat shields and the front and back muffler. Should be able to score it all on ebay. You can use the exhaust off of 883 or 1200 and from '04 to newer. If the header pipes are '07 or newer you will need to get screw in plugs to fill the holes where the o2 sensors were mounted.
