Sand down the areas to be welded completely to bare metal giving like a inch space from wher the welds going down 2 youself to save $$ on labour costs then take the broken chunk (sanded too) and bike to a welding shop (TIG welds are best) and ask em to weld it back on, it'll take them literally 2minutes and shouldn't charge you much.

oh dont screw around sanding that sh?t down man wear eye protection (full face clear mask is what us welders use) and put the broken chunk into vise or something when you sand it down if yer using a grinder, its not worth losin a finger.
you probably already know this but i had 2 say it cuz people will amaze you sometimes when they jump into things without being careful.

+1 stay far away as possible from a chopper or bike shop #1 99.9% of them can't weld worth a sh_t cuz their usually mechanics who've picked welding skills #2 they might just middleman it out to a welding fabrication shop...u pay more.
as a welder i've learned decent HD mechanic skills but i wouldn't recommend you give me yer bike to work on, go look 4 a local fabrication shop n ask em if they TIG weld and if they'd take a small repair job, you'll find 1 no prob fairly cheap, but if ya like paying out yer --- then take it to a chopper or bike shop.

Take it to a fab shop. Make sure it is someone good, you dont want it breaking and letting the bike fall. Look for any good machine shops around.
