I'm more inclined to do my own fabrication as well...even if it's a skill I have to learn before I can actually do it but I have the luxury of having a full shop at my disposal 24hrs/day. Not everyone has that but that doesn't mean that they don't deserve something cool.

If someone were to buy this kit and install it in their apartment parking lot I would have much respect for that. Even if it means buying a kit.

fender is cool, looks like you would still have to cut the frame fender sturts off.

seat is awefull. i'd like to see how the fender mounts in the front...i would image it would have to mount to the swing arm so they could keep it that low to the tire but i don't know where they would bolt it on.

not the biggest fan of bolt on but it still looks nice

Yeah. You can see the fender mounts to the swing arm. Pivots with it. Their deal is that the suspension, wiring & all that is not modified at all. Even the turn signals plug straight in.

I'm not a fan of the seat but the overall kit is pretty slick.

guess you could slap in some lowered shocks or rigid struts, buell handlebars then rattle can your rims then call it a bobber like these guys, you don't need need to buy no 'kit' from noone to do this low budget makeover man.
do this if you don't gotta alot $$$ to spend, but realise when a hardcore old school bobber is within eyeshot of you, the low budget makeover will show bigtime. i don't dig bobbers but i'd go all the way if i did but thats just me, to each their own man. FYI this is a response to the original poster and i'm referring to the 'kit' the company selling so anyone reading don't take offence to my 2 cents cuz thats all it is my 2 cents.

I absolutely see your point but if you look at it from my perspective it's a really nice kit and doesn't cost very much to do. After so many people coming in for the exact same thing it becomes monotonous. Most of the guys would love to be able to do it themselves but simply don't have the tools or know-how. I applaud kits like these because the purchaser is probably going to do this just one time and once they "cut their teeth" on modifying it usually expands from there.

I'd rather turn someone on to something that I KNOW will work other than giving them thoughts, ideas or instruction on how I would do it and that may not be within their realm of possibilities for whatever reason.

It sounds like I'm trying to promote these kits but I'm not. I just don't believe in "built not bought". Nothing is truly built anymore anyway. Bend your own frame tubes, roll your own fenders & tank...that's built. I make alot of parts for my own bikes and I'm very proud of that but I really try to stay away from saying things like "I built this bike/truck"...whatever because it's basically a rendition of how I visualize what I want in the project. I can pound out an air cleaner cover but absolutely have no need/want to roll a fender. (ran the meaty part of my palm through an english wheel once and that was it for me).
