Default springer front end

any one know if springer front ends are lighter then stock on an 05 sportster

Springers are generally heavier than glide front ends.

Next time I have the springer off I'll try to remember to weigh it compared to the WG.

a Springer Softail standard weighs about 100 pounds more in dry weight than my standard. I'd guess most/maybe all of that is in the forks

It would depend on what type of springer your working with. A cast factory springer is gonna weigh a lot more than a DNA. I really didn't think my DNA was much heavier than the WG I pulled off. Guess we'll see if all that extra weight of a factory unit is important or not to structural integrity.
