Was contemplating getting a 1200 upgrade to my 883c. First question, is it worth it.
I live in the UK and one dealer has quoted me £500 less than the other. The expensive one was going to put new ignition module? heads etc on it and sounded a bit ott, the other guy said about changing the sleeves and the basics, im not exactly sure about the technicalities.
Maybe better holding on to this bike for a couple of years and just buying a stock 1200? or is it better to get the 883 upgraded, i already have stage 1 kit on it SE slip ons and air etc
Watch out for the cylinder sets that are made in China! Friend got one and had to have it rebored it was so tapered from top to bottom. Of course that meant new pistons and rings. He shouldn't have touched it after finding it was no good, but got anxious to get on with the conversion. I don't know for sure, but I have been told most of those 'cheap' conversion sets on e-Bay are of the China variety. ................... BC
