Thunder Max on Nightster?
On '07-09 it replaces your factory ECM located under seat, but the autotune modules fit directly behind the engine on the vertical frame rails....on 2010's it totally replaces the factory ECU and is hidden in OEM ECU caddy including autotune modules.
Go to Zippers thundermax site and download the install instructions for the diff years....their site can be a little hard to navigate but the info is there for your year bike if you dig.
I've got a Tmax autotune on my '07 Road King and swear by it. I'm fixing to order one for my 2010 Iron now that they finally make one to fit.
PS, the Iron is same as the Nightster and other XL models when it comes to installing the Tmax depending on year. The XR, however is a different beast......so all n all, zippers makes 3 different Tmax's to fit 07-2010 sportys....One fits all 07-09's, one fits only XR's, and the other fits only 2010 XL's including XL1200N and XL883N.

I ordered my Thundermax from the local Indy and have it sitting in my closet as i type.
Working 14hr days/7days a week right now so hadn't had a chance to install it...
Got a pair of plugs for the old bungs and a pair of weld-on 18mm bungs from Drag Specialties waiting to be installed as well. From what i understand the D&D Bobcat pipe i will eventually run has adequate clearance for the longer 'wide-band' O2 sensors the Thundermax comes with... but will have to modify my Short Shots to run what i have now.
Didn't order the Bobcats just yet because i've received so many compliments on the Short Shots (for looks AND sound from Motorcycle guys of all different brand preferences and experience levels).
Will try and make a post, with pics if possible, about my install and results when i get a chance (read: Day Off!).
