I'm starting to wonder about my local dealer also because they originally wanted 14,400 for an 09 nightster with 120 demo miles on it. I got them to give me their "Best Price" at $13,300. I don't know how they will stay in business.
I feel bad for them (not bad enough to pay that price though).
Yeah I sent him an e-mail asking to explain why I should pay the same price for a 2009 as a 2010 model regardless if they are giving me a $750 gift card or not. The way I see it, the motorcycle is 2 years old. The bank sees it being 2 years old also new or not. Its like buying a brand new 2009 car when the 2011's are coming out and they are the same price!! Maybe I'm just being hard headed but I can't see it.

There is no way that is a stock Nightster at that price. It must have lots of extras on it, or they are including an ESP in that price

Didn't you read what I wrote for you? Walk into that dealer with $1000 cash and tell them you want that bike for $8,000 plus freight, setup, doc fees, taxes and title. You should get that bike for $10,000 OTD!
If they say no, leave your number and tell them to call you if they change there mind!
NEVER do business over an email, you will just get a run around. Cash in hand makes deals, not emails.
Alright Texas, what about finding a deal and getting it shipped to you. I don't know if the shop I bought mine off of could arrange shipping, but like I said, I bought mine for $7773, bone stock ( used 07 w/ 1500 miles). This guys doesn't sell crap Harley's. They are all showroom condition and come with a 3 month 3000 mile warranty. If you find a great deal why not get it shipped. Bob's ( bobsmotorcycles.com) does financing and so do other places besides HD dealerships. I'm pluggin the hell out of his shop cuz they are that good. I am excited for you that your trying to get a Nightster. I am sure you'll land one soon regardless where you get it from.

Yeah man I hear you but I'm not making a 8hr round trip for nothing. If I knew for a fact they would take that deal, I would be on it. I already told him what I would do and if they take it fine..if not they can sit on it

Hey thanks for the website... yeah he's got some good deals on there. 07-08 nightsters for $8k... not bad. I may give him a call tomorrow and see what it will cost for shipping and everything..Thanks again
So give them a counter offer, $1K down, $9k financed, take it or leave it. That's what i would do. With the economy as it is they will probably take it.
Get a different financing, go with a credit union, better rates there.
Blows me away. MSRP on a '10 is $9990. In no other retail business do you have to pay more than MSRP. Usually it's a fair amount less. It's only because people are willing to get jacked that they can do this. If we all said "Keep it". They would start changing. Even at MSRP the dealer is probably making a 100% profit. I've worked in retail for years and 100% mark-up is pretty standard, some places even have as high as 200% profit worked in. Right now I work in a music store and we have an 80% mark-up, and that still falls under MSRP on all our stuff. I'd just tell them to keep the dang thing. Maybe when they're tired of dusting it everyday they'll be ready to deal.

Yup I agree with you!!! Found me a used 09 not too far from here with 62 miles on it for $7800!!! The other stealership can suck it!!!!
