Usually the ones that give you a hard time, don't even own a bike. My experience anyway.

I don't catch too much crap...every so often. It usually comes from someone that doesn't even have a bike.

In the rare case that the person does indeed have a bike, they certianly have never owned a sporty and they bought into the "girl bike" mentality.

EVERY person I have spoken to, that has once owned a sporty, has always spoken fondly of it. Most wish they still had it and some do.

Most of us 'long time riders' have either owned Sportsters in the past, or still currently own a Sportster along with whatever Big Twins we might happen to have.

I don't know any of the guys I've ridden with for years ever making 'fun' of a Sportster. If anything looking at one would bring back fond memories.

I would imagine that most of the people that would belittle a Sportster are nothing more than 'weekend warriors' that think (for some unknown reason) what you ride, and how much you paid for that ride, gives them some kind of elevated status in the biker community.

Nothing is further from the truth, and if anything it makes them no more than a joke in the biker community.

Bottom line is that if someone says something negative about your ride (no matter what you are riding) it's their problem, not yours...

Exactly, tell'em to stick it. You Love your bike and that's nobody's concern but your's. If you can do things to it to make it suit YOU even better, then go for it, you'll love it even more. have fun & ride safe.
