im just wondering if anybody else is catching crap for owning a sportster i sure am i just bought a xl883c about a week ago and i catch crap all the time i dont care i love my bike i am a little big i am 6'2" 350 lbs might look like a bear on a unicycle but i am just happy to be on 2 wheels i do plan on getting the 6" extended forwards to give me a little more leg room would just like to hear others feedback
Most of us 'long time riders' have either owned Sportsters in the past, or still currently own a Sportster along with whatever Big Twins we might happen to have.
I don't know any of the guys I've ridden with for years ever making 'fun' of a Sportster. If anything looking at one would bring back fond memories.
I would imagine that most of the people that would belittle a Sportster are nothing more than 'weekend warriors' that think (for some unknown reason) what you ride, and how much you paid for that ride, gives them some kind of elevated status in the biker community.
Nothing is further from the truth, and if anything it makes them no more than a joke in the biker community.
Bottom line is that if someone says something negative about your ride (no matter what you are riding) it's their problem, not yours...
i appericiate the feed back i just wanted to hear from others all the haters i just take there crap with a grain of salt one guy even told me i should have got something i would be proud to ride after a few choice words that i can not say on the forums i told him i am very proud of what i ride i just cant believe all the haters i feel its not what you ride its that you ride my last bike was a crotch rocket and caught crap cause it wasnt a harley now i catch crap cause its not the right harley oh well you cant please everybody
just bought a 1200 2008 myself . If your happy don't let anybody rain on your parade . Tell em to kiss off .
Exactly, tell'em to stick it. You Love your bike and that's nobody's concern but your's. If you can do things to it to make it suit YOU even better, then go for it, you'll love it even more. have fun & ride safe.
