Default saddlebag brackets.

I bought a set of saddlebag brackets for my 05 1200C. I have a question about putting them on. One side of the bracket goes through the upper shock bolt. Looking at that spring, if I pull that bolt out is it going to fly off from releasing the tension? Is there anything special I need to know before I loosen that bolt?

You will need a bike lift. You have to lift the rear of the bike, so that when you remove the shock bolt the hole of the shock aligns with the frame.

The bolt supplied with the kit should be about 3/8" or so longer to accommodate the width of the support bracket.

That looks like what I bought. They are drag specialties that I got off ebay. Should have them in a few days.

Yeah, there are tons of brackets that attach to the shock bolt. Lift her up and it will be much easier to work on.

I'm looking for a set of brackets myself but just havent decided on what I want yet. Especially what I want to spend.

Post up some pics of the job when you are done. What bags are you looking at?
