I need an axle for a custom application and need a 3/4 " axle that is aprox 10" in between the bolts. Does anyone know the length of their sporty and year? because if its close I can order from HD.

The 2004 rear axle is 3/4", after that in 05 they went to 1". I don't know what you mean by "in between the bolts". The axle is a bolt and you thread a nut on the end of it. The 04 rear axle is approx. 13", as you measure any bolt, from under the head to the end of the bolt (end of threads).
thanks charlie, i found it below. should have been more clear but i wanted to use a sporty rear axle for a custom front springer forksetup. looks like pre99 sportys will work. i needed a 3/4" axle minimum 10" long and didnt want to pay to have one custom made.
