pretty much. $5,200 plus their setup and frieght fees and all that.

It is worth noting my bike was worth $100. 79 Suzuki with a chopped frame, bad forks, no exhaust, totally destroyed carb, seized brakes, dead tranny, bad clutch, broken (but not totally seized) motor. Oh, and it was spray painted and dented.

Financing terms were actually pretty good. Beat what my bank offered.

Sportsters are dirt cheap right now it seems. Look in the Midwest. I've seen a bunch of sportsters (not irons or FI though) for under 5 grand on craigslist in st Louis.

9300 OTD

I was so patient I literally couldnt wait any longer. I called about 30 dealers pretty much every dealer in N. California and haggled. I could have gotten a cheaper deal online but bikes in other states must have atleast 7500 on the odometer to make it work with DMV. Also I didnt want to buy a used bike with 8000 miles ESPECIALLY an Iron or nightster and really there wasnt any. I searched for the Iron and Nightster for months in california but the best I could find was 6900-7400 used with 1500+ miles. I said screw it and bought a new one.

Good luck plenty of better deals than I paid im sure. I dunno here in my area the bikes are/were in demand so they had a price ceiling they were not willing to drop below, ANY dealer I called. If I paid out the loan in the time alotted I pay 10000 on a 9300 loan. Well needless to say its almost paid off, ;-)

So then you paid $8810 not $8010 out the door. That seems more like it.

Remember, out the door is different depending on what state you live in. Here in Arkansas, we don't pay the taxes or DMV fees at the dealer. I think you'll be hard pressed to find an Iron under MSRP, not that it can't be done but you better be ready to buy right then, I learned that in Daytona. The Iron is a hot model and demand is high. They only had the one at Rossmyer's during bike week and that store always has a ton of bikes.

I was just at a dealer today (St Louis, MO). They had 8 brand new irons in stock. If they are sitting on that kind of inventory, I'd imagine they are wanting to move them. Maybe give them a call and see what they are willing to do on price?
