Does anyone know if the 1.2" ground clearance loss on the XL1200C can be brought back up with stock parts, like the XL1200R rear shocks? I have a chance to get a very low mileage 2005 1200C at a good price but have always wanted the "XL1200R" version because of the greater ground clearance for the "twisties".
Thanks in advance for any info on how to get the clearance back up!
Some would say the 1200C stock shocks aren't the best in the world, anyway... I think the stock ones are 11.75" - I'd suggest looking at Progressive 412's at 12.5" to raise yer ride. There's a HD (heavy duty) version if yer gonna haul 'round more than, say, 280 lbs. consistently... Just my 0.02
I have a 2005 1200R and I believe the stock shock length was 12.5 inches.
I have since replaced the stock shocks with Shocks from a 1200S model.
My Stock shocks have probably less then 500 miles on them and I would be
willing to sell them to you if your interested. Make me a offer if you want.
