So as some of you know I have a love hate relationship with my HD super sport detachable windshield. I love the protection it provides from bugs, but hate the way it distorts my view. So I hit up ebay for some scrap Lexan, and won 10 sheets (13x18in). I just got it in yesterday, and immediately went to making a new windsheild.
I used the brackets from the HD SS Detachable windshield, and just bolted the new lexan onto it. I am more than pleased with the outcome. I took it for a ride last night, and I didn't have to look though it, it didn't distort the view of the road, I didn't get hit with a single bug (except in the legs), and I think it looks 100x better.
Tell me what you think:

I still have 9 pieces left if anyone wants me to cut them one, or if anyone just wants to buy some lexan. You'll have to use your old mounts. Just PM me and we'll work something out.
I would'nt have thought that to be 18" verticle, looks good. Where did you put the top edge of the screen in relation to your view, and how does it cut the wind to your helmet?
The top edge comes into view when looking about 10-12 feet infront of the bike. You really don't even notice it is there. The old one fell dead center of my view, just below the horizon... it annoyed the heck out of me.
As far as wind to the helmet... I am not sure. I wasn't wearing one when I tested it. But it felt like it deflected just as much wind from my face as the old one.
