Default Exhaust?

What do you guys think about Samson exhaust? Or V&H? What exhaust gives you the best bang for the buck?

I like my V&H side shots. That being said, it's the only thing I've run other than stock. I came really close to getting some mean mothers. I think performance wise, you'll be in the same ballpark whether you choose Samson or V&H. Alot of it comes down to aesthetics and of course tone.

Not real impressed with Samson's quality. Had some mufflers on my Road King and one of the baffles broke loose in just over a year. Never had any problems with the V&H big radius I put on my Street Glide. Probably going to get either the the Competition or RSD Tracker exhaust from V&H when I get my Iron if I don't go with a D&D pipe.

I've done short, and now side shots from V&H. Out of both, the sideshots are better performing, not every tom, dick, and harry have them either.

for best bang for the buck its hard to beat the cycleshack slip ons. Got mine for about $150 and have a nice deep sound. They aren't obnoxiously loud, yet wake up when ya get on the throttle.

My Grandpa has a set of Sampson true duels on his Softtail trike and I don't like the sound of them at all. They look nice, but the ones he has are a glass pack style so they hav more of a blow sound to them if you know what I mean. I do not have V&H pipes, but they do make a good product.
