Default base gasket

so, i think i need to replace my base gasket. a friend of mine told me that i might as well rebuild the top end while i have the thing apart, however i am not sure what i am going to need. it is a 1994, 883 with a 1200 conversion and Screaming Eagle heads. i assume i will have to send out for some of the work, but most of this is new to me. any help, places to shop, or parts list? thanks.

how many miles are on it since the conversion?

Depends on what you want done, and how much you wanna spend. Why do you have it apart right now?? Did you already have the 1200 conversion on it, or are you doing it right now? For more aggressive headwork, i'd recommend NHRS performance, talk to Dan and he'll tell you what your best options are. But if your looking at the headwork, you may want to consider new cams, and possibly domed pistons to match the headwork along with a programmable ignition for maximum HP. The sky's the limit depending on how deep your pockets are. Otherwise if your just looking for a basic rebuild of the heads(new seats, valves, guides), then the stealer will do just fine if you want to be overcharged on labor, or you can save a few bucks with a local indy. mechanic.

bike seems to be leaking oil from around the base; thus the new base gasket. no, i have yet to tear it down. was going to start on it this week. dunno how long since the rebuild conv. kit was put on it, but i have put 2k on it since i have gotten it. thanks for the advice.
