Default baffle no baffle

removed the 4" baffles from my bike. it is louder that is for sure. i think it may be running leaner as well. did not start on the first hit this morning. as a rule of thumb, are there any issues that arise from removing baffles?

Read this.http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/exhaust.htm This is what you have done is make Drag pipes and you need to put some Back pressure back in the mix. You will need to change your slow jet to get rid of the starting issues. There is a section on carb tuning on that same site. These are the lollipops ready made to install in your head pipes http://www.bigcitythunder.com/ good explanation of what you have going on there as well. Hope this Helps. Nightrider is an excellent resource on performance and his site is a gold mine of information.

Yeah you leaned out the mix and will loose power as well. I like the drag pipe sound most of the time, but HD's do run better with some back pressure. I could have took the baffels out of my pipes and had it tuned that way, but I would stillnot have got the low end punch that I have now, plus drag pipes can sounds funny at certin RPM ranges.

Have you got the Screaming Eagle II's slip ons? They might have been switched out the the BCT's already as you saw they make a replacement Baffle for those pipes.
