Check Craigslist for a cheap trailer.
Craigslist is where I found the pic above. I'll have to research this type of hitch further. I don't even know who makes it, yet. Looking in South Florida, I've found some stuff reasonably priced. Every bit of info I can get always helps. In a normal situation trailer type/size wouldn't be an issue. Believe it or not, storage for a regular trailer is over $150/month. Hell, I'd just buy another bike before I'd do that. That's why I'm looking for the most compact thing I can find, hopefully I can find a safe place to squirrel it away.

As a matter of fact, I found a link: http://www.cycle-tow.com/Purchase.html

BUT, is there a risk of damage to the belt or anything???

I also don't see any speed restrictions, but that wouldn't necessarily be advertised.

What is the consensus? We're talking about 350 miles each way.

Found this bad boy, too. Not too expensive, either.

The time I had to trailer my bike, I rented the 5X9 ramp trailer from U-haul and it worked fine. Think I paid about 70 bucks to take it from Phoenix to Portland, OR.

im not for sure but i think i remember somthing in my oweners manual saying not to tow the bike like that with the motor off. it doesnt lubricate somthing properly.

You have a pickup, use it. A trailer is an unnecessary expense and then you have to store it.

I was thinking about going to Thunder Beach in Panama City Fl. this week end, but I have my daughter going with me, and since we lived in Fort Walton, I was gonna let her stay with some old friends. I was thinking about taking the bike in the truck, and leaving it in Ft. Walton and riding on down to PC. I have a 40" steel bi-folding ramp that I use to put the bike in the shed, I just ride it in there, about a 16" incline, and it is easy to back out. But what about getting it off and back on from a 32"( tailgate ht.) Is this easy for one person to do, the ramp is about 5' long. Plus if I leave the truck in ft. Walton, I should be able to get some help, I know 2 people can do it.

Check Craigslist for a cheap trailer.
exactly what i was going to say, those little 12" wheels cant do highway speeds and keep their bearings in place.
i have found many REAL bike trailers on craigslist for $500 or less with 14"
tires.

If I had to trailer my bike several times each month, there is no way in hell I'd use something like that bumper hitch. That thing looks like it's made especially for idiots (although in an emergency, that could be useful......maybe). Either get a real trailer, find a better way to utilize your truck, or leave the bike at home. But my god man, are you really considering that bumper hitch???
