Where is the ECM located on the '10 and how much more difficult is it to relocate it on the '09? I was pretty much planning on purchasing another rear fender to cut instead of the stock on the bike comes with.

if you want to chop the fender anyway then i would take the 09. moving the ecm is the easy part. doing somthing with the hole left in the fender is hard to make look good if you dont chop the fender
I was under the impression that the Catalytic converters were installed on the 2008 and newer Sportsters. The bike is a year old already, but still new. I would think that you could get a better deal for the bike than $500.00 worth of goodies plus the MSRP. In addition, $500.00 really doesnt go that far at the dealer. If you are just going to do a lot of part swapping to get the look that you are after, why spend so much on a new bike to start off with? You are already going to probably do the pipes and the Air Cleaner and then you will have to do the remap. You are already over your $500.00 limit and you just paid your Harley tax. If you find another used bike that you like, the original owner will most likely have already paid the Harley tax and you will also get it for much less than the MSRP. You might even get what is left of the original warranty. Just a thought Good luck with your purchase and ride safe out there!
Not sure how it is in your parts but a new Nightster goes for $11 500 and a used 2008 Nightster goes for no less than 10k. Nightsters around here really don't go down in price that much so that's the reason I'm opting for new. I'll try and see if they are willing to reduce the price of the '09 more.
if the price is the same other than the 500 in extras,
i say take the 2010 because the 500 in extras you
are going to get you can buy on the open market
for about 200-250 and you will have a current model
year bike and no need to move an ecm when the
changes happen.
