No more than 10 weight oil is recommend w/ 7.5 popular.
I tried to add a PCV spacer for preload to no avail...I could not compress the OEM spring enough to reinstall the caps.
I did have success in firming up the front end by adding 1/2 ounce of fork oil to each tube.
