After 3 months, "The Good Son" is finally finished. St the battery cover that fell off and got run over by a car after 1 mile test run. Is there a remedy for this? The factory plastic clips just suck. .
Mine came loose on a ride back fom a service i managed to hold it in place with my boot untill i could pull over.Solution I drilled a small hole in the top of the cover where it gets covered my the seat and now i cable tie it to the frame.Once seccured..Note tell the mechs this that are going to service the bike before they try.. and break somthing.H
Here is "The Good Son" at it's final look. I spent 3 hours cleaning up the wiring, replaced the broken speedo holder, put on the Lick's solo bag, added a motocross style one way gas cap valve, decal, and I just need to powder coat the new battery cover. Oh and get this thing registered...free advertising for Bartel's to keep the cops away.
I'd like to see some pics of how you mounted the coil. Killer ride!!!!!
I used the stock choke bracket. You can see in the pics above. Let me know if you need a close up.
I went on a 128 mile ride today and hit about 90 on the FWY. The bike did great for it's maiden voyage. The seat was really comfy, I would buy a seat by Mothroad Customs again. The tank...oh, the tank was about 2 gallons and was rough in stop and go traffic...ate gas like a fat kid eats cake. At cruising speed or full throttle, it was perfect.
the bike looks really good. although im not quite sure i like the fender strut/sissy bar. the fender, in my opinion, is too short for that application. other than that, its a good lookin ride. now enjoy it.
