hav 07 sportster custom with S E air filter and V + H short shots with cobra fi2000 controller does anyone hav similar system and what settings are you using. posted this already but not sure to the right place. running at 4 3 2 seems ok except at idle. had v + h fuel pak on before but could not get rid of back fire on decel no matter what setting thanx
I have an 07 roadster, SE filter and V+H shortshots + Fuelpak, had the backfire on decel with the standard baffles but it went away when I changed to quiet baffles. Deeper exhaust note as well.
You need to turn your first adjustment back to the stock setting. Open the second and third to 3. See how it runs. Then adjust your mid setting a 1/4 turn at a time if needed. You have the first screw turned to 4 which is adding too much fuel at idle. You need more fuel in the middle and top end to adjust for the lean condition of your set up with pipes and a/c.

My indy installed my fi2000. They had it set 4/6/6. Ran great but sucked the gas down really bad. I now have it set at 3/4/4. Same perfomance as 4/6/6 only my gas mileage went up by 5-10 mpg. Leave that first pot on 3. Adjust the others to your desire. http://cobrausa.com/ has the intstall/settings sheet that you can print out.
1/4 turn between numbers 3 and 4. In a nut shell,your bike was running lean from the factory,which causes heat and hot oil temps. By adding more air with your air cleaner and pipes to the engine,you have made it leaner. You need to add fuel back to the mid and upper throttle ranges with the Cobra unit. The stock idle setting on the Cobra adds fuel at idle so you really don't need to touch the first setting.
