Hey my thread is back!
Well, last year I tried to internally wire them but was in a rush cause I needed to be at a bike week. I am sure with a lot of patience and the right tools it can be done but those angles are extreme and there seemed to be areas in the bars that were ripping the insulation on my wires. Well prepared and patience will do it
It ended up being real simple once I had it preped. I had the inside of the bars sand blasted smooth and re powdercoated, which wss good cause the biltwell finsh is pretty easily scratched. I then wrapped the wires in a nice tight bundle about every 6 in along the strand. Feed a bass guitar string through and attach the wires at the top of the bar. then goo a bunch dish soap in the bars and they slid right through. It only took a little work getting them through the holes I drilled at the bottom.
How big were the holes your drilled and about how far apart? Can you take some pics for us? Did you disconnect the cables by the gas tank or did you cut them and then resolder them afterwards?
Sorry for all the questions...getting a little excited. I really don't want to get them powdercoated because I just bought them. Is it possible to sandblast the inside without ruining the outside?
