there's nothing wrong with people modding their bikes to fit their personality. a bike is not a house where when you add things to it you expect a bigger return on your investment. i dont add stuff to my bike so that i can sell it for more money. anything with motor depreciates whether it has no mods or $10k in mods.
it may be beyond you but its certainly not beyond most of the people on this forum.
Yes, I think I am living in the past.
But I have been there, done that, and had friends who also did the same thing with cars and bikes.
Get a nice something, hop it up or whatever, spend a TON of money, then crash, smash or sell it at a big loss.
While I have spent a good amount of money on goodies for my bike, I cant help thinking someone is making a LOT of money selling this stuff.
I have seen people dump loads of money into cars, old low end cars belching oil smoke with $1500.00 wheels, $1000.00 exhaust, $800.00 seats, $3000.00 audio systems, suspension upgrades, etc.
They then smash the thing up, or blow the motor, and its almost a total write off, book value and whatever parts they can sell off it.
If you can afford multi bikes, I guess its fine turning one into artwork, but why someone would WANT to ride a hard tail with a 2 gallon gas tank cross country is beyond me.

So what you're basically saying is everyone should leave everything stock.
What a great imagination you've got there.
Oh and see my signature when you're cracking on gas tanks.
