Rough Ride
wrapped the shock n used channel locks. worked fine.
Most people say Low models ride crappy two up. I would Imagine so,,
1.6 or 2.1 inches of shock travel,,,hit a 3" bump and ,,,well, thats a no brainer.
Find out your stock shock travel,,look here:
http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photo...eyDavidson.htm
Shows almost all years n model spec's, then measure shock length eye to eye no load,,,
If your short and not shure if ya kin flat foot the bike with taller shocks,,
sit on a book,,try 1" thick,,then 2",,get me ?
Say ya got 12 Inch shocks,,2.12" shock travel,,13" should give 3" ish
13.5" wich I have on my bike give 3.69,,Its plenty for me.
NOW
MOST IMPORTANT::::
Lower frame rails must me level or lower to the REAR or ya may get a tank slapper,,,,I used 3/4" PVC scedule 40 and cut preload spacers 3/4" long to give my Roadster a level chassis with rear shocks on most preload.
Also went with thicker fork Oil to limit front end dive,,,the bike Is dialed
Imagine that,,Riding a Sportster like a Sport bike,,,XD
