I have an 05 sporty 1200. I seem to have a low rpm miss. I thought it was a bad chain or belt . Now I am leaning toward the carb. The bike is stock except for a screamin eagle kit. Both spark plugs look great. They show no sign of running rich. Is it worth pulling the carb to check the pilot jet? I also do not get much variation when adjusting the air screw.

You do NOT have to pull the carburetor to check or change the jets. Just remove the four screws and take off the bottom of the float bowl. You can get to the jets this way to check the size or to change them out. It almost doesnt make any sense to have a SE kit on a stock bike. Are you sure the pipes are stock? You can still check out what the jet sizes are just so you can be sure what you are starting out with. Good luck with your issue and ride safe out there!
