So I'm starting to put some miles down on my my Sporty... about 300 a clip. Soooo.... I am quite sure that I need a new seat cause my backside is starting to get pretty sore and not too mention numb... Question. I do some two up riding and was thinking of getting a Mustang seat... usually buy off of Dennis K website... but was wondering what's been the experience off of ebay or do you recommend to stay away? Any other brand of seats that could be suggested? Have a 2006 1200L with mini apes, mikuni carb, V&H pipes and stock seat and suspension.

I have been buy and selling stuff on EBAY for years and I almost always check there for pricing first. I have had very little problems over the years (mostly with private seller not stores), just check there rating that pretty much tells all.
My 2000 you could almost call the bike Ebay built it has so many Ebay parts on it.
If you are shorter, or have forward controls, the mustang vintage wide seat is very nice, and very nicely made, VERY quality.
At 6 foot, its to low and forward and will give you leg cramps.
I have got stuff off ebay and Dennis Kirk, just beware of getting the wrong part off ebay (correct model/year).
Hi, I buy off EBAY all the time and the key is to ask the seller ?'s before making a bid. Seller feedback ratings as aforementioned are also very important . The buyer is responsible to be sure the part fits there bike so You have to do some research of the item You are bidding on, but I have saved money buying H-D parts for My Sportster from Dealers selling on-line .......WVleo
Always ask questions, I've ran into guys that just guess on what year parts will fit, but if they give you a decently educated answer your usually safe. Always double check yourself with part numbers. Ex. I was looking into getting a security system with key fob to get rid of my key, and a guy posted 04-later, but checked with Harley and there are only 04-06 or 07-later models.
My experience on ebay is a level of service that exceeds that of any local store. The ebay sellers are very concerned about their ratings. Among other stuff, I purchased both of my HDs on ebay. I have had one bad experience with a private seller but paypal returned my funds. Good hunting.
bought my first used softail pillow seat off ebay, $65.00, lasted now 5 years, just bought another, $85.00, it was listed as new, taken off when bike was bought new, and it is. check out there feedback and use paypal. paypal will cover you. it keeps them from getting the money until you leave feedback so if your not happy you can dispute the transaction. ive gotten my money back on a few items. but yeah the prices the shops charge for a seat is crazy, $300.00 or more.
Just do your research and make sure you know what your bidding on! My experience on ebay has been great. Look at retail prices and part numbers then look on ebay and see what you come up with. You can find some great deals and it overall doesn't cost anything just to look!
