I would say close to 100hp not bad considering a stock 883 has about 39 rwhp that's more than doubling your horsepower! With that kind of gain you should be alright with your stock gearing, some people even go the other way taller.
I am thinking about getting a Sportster to drag race. What does one need to do to a stock 883 to get the 100hp?

There's a few good shops around that can do 100 hp and more for a 883. Buy a older 883 and go to some place like http://www.zippersperformance.com/ca...ts.asp?cat=865 They have 883/74", 883/79" 883/88" 883/99" and 883/100" motors. They have one model called the "jap zapper" that one would get you drag racing pretty quick! S&S also does big inch sportster motors up to 100 inch. But those monster motors are the best of everything and cost alot so buy a $3000 range used sportster and buy a $6000 100" monster motor and with a little extra for support components like exstended swingarm, wheeliebar, good brakes, tires, ect and your on top of the world! Think of all the fun zapping jap bikes! Yea a good 100" sportster motor can get you 125+hp
