Default 09 HARLEY 1200L Sportster make it loud

Is there any way to make this bike louder with out having to spend a arm and leg? One guy told me to drill out the muffler..Hell it's a long way through it..I stuck a long screw driver in there and felt nothing..Any idea what he is talking about? Thanks

Take one of the whole cutter bits.. and drill it out.. we had to get 3 or 4 of the bits to drill out my brothers.. if you look down your pipe you will see a smaller hole then what the pipe actually is.. your going to want to drill our the center hole.. so get the bit bigger than that but smaller than your pipe.. and take your time.. it will take a while.

once you drill it out the center hole witch is actually the baffle should pull straight out..

let me know if you don't understand what im talking about I can draw you a picture..

I just bashed the baffles out with a long socket extention.
You could use rbar, pipe, anything long and solid enough.
I think its almost 2 feet in to the baffle plug.
I think it sounds good, not too loud, sort of has the phat sound...

If you can find a long enough drill, that is likely a better way to go.
If you do just the exhaust, you dont need to spend money to adjust the mixture, although that will give you more power, even on a stock bike.

I dont really need more power, but might like to eliminate that 110 mph speed limiter...

Then you have to buy new gaskets for the balance tube, remove the heat shields, etc.

I would keep the original exhaust pipes/mufflers, just in case of a Fix-it ticket for loud pipes, and I would try the cycle shack slip ons as an inexpensive option. They do sound good and the price is right too! This is just my suggestion for a LOUD and CHEAP exhaust upgrade! Now, if you are looking for performance, I would suggest a 2 into 1 exhaust system by RB Racing. NOT CHEAP! Great sound and great performance too! Did I mention that they are NOT CHEAP in anyway? Good luck with your exhaust upgrade and ride safe out there!
