I bought a set of used HD rubber footpegs off eBay for around 5 dollars and they work great on my highway peg kit

I bought some nice Harley pegs, chrome and rubber, big ones for the passenger pegs, smaller ones for the mid controls (so I can get my foot between the peg and shifter) and moved the original mid pegs to the hiway mounts.
The original mid pegs were rubber isolated, the passenger pegs were small and poor...

Default hiway pegs

i purchased the black engine guard and put the cheaper stock pegs on the guard. it really lets you sit nice and if i get the old cramping in the left hip due to stopping and shifting, i just stick my left foot up and instant relief. very comfortable for long trips. you could also get a set of fog or driving lamps down low on the bottom of the guard. i haven't got the fog lamps yet but will by end of summer. hope it don't look like crap on my 08 nighty. good luck, ride safe

I fabbed up a whisker bar from a set of passenger pegs I got in a junk pile at local bike shop. They are off a Big Dogchopper.

I think the whole thing including the drill bits, shims, bracket, and pegs, only set me back about $45.00.
