Mechanical question

I have an 07 nightster and recently I have noticed a sort of Klanging sound coming from the right side of my bike down by my foot, I have had a SMALL oil leak but I cant tell where its coming from but there is still plenty of oil in the tank, I check it frequently. Any suggestions what this might be? Thanks

What I mean is.... is there a connection between the two problems?

Dont know if there is a connection, but if you hear a clanging by your right foot, i would check your pipes. Have you been keeping up with your maintenance? Check all bolts and nuts and make sure they are torqued to specs every 5k miles. Harleys will vibrate loose if you dont stay on top of things.

Pay special attention to the nuts on the exhaust header on the rear cylinder. I've seen them work their way loose. This problem makes a weird sound that could be described as clanging
