Question Cagers?????

I find it really funny reading other peoples posts about "******* cagers". And then they tell us about how stupid cagers are. The question I'd like to ask all of them is.......Do you own a car or truck?? If so, then why aren't YOU a cager, and lumped in the same catagory??
I'll bet there are many more car drivers who have nasty things to say about bike riders, and all the idiot things they/we do. And we all see bike riders doing stupid asinine things on a regular basis.
Personally I think that on the whole, bike riders are far more irresponsible than most car drivers.

I just find it funny when I read all the bravado, chest-pumped out, clenched-fist descriptions of "those ******* cagers".

I've always used the term towards those drivers that have a lack of respect for motorcyclists.

I do own a Jeep, so I am forced to be a "cager" once in a while, but I am still very aware of motorcycles on the road, as is my wife and all of her friends (since I am constantly lecturing them to keep an eye out for us).

I agree that some riders give us a bad name due to bad habits so I am sure there are "cagers" who have this very same thread on their forums about us "bikers".

I actually saw some fool riding on the shoulder of the interstate on the gas tank of his crotch rocket in rush hour. Yep...he helps the biker image.

To me cager refers to the ones in the car who act like bikers do not exist. Like the driver of that Monte Carlo...I got up close & personal with the undercarriage.

an ******* behind the wheel is an ******* behind the wheel. you can call him a cager, an ******* or an asscage if you want. either way he's still an ******* behind the wheel. we've all done ******* stuff behind the wheel or in the saddle at one point and it's much easier to bitch about someone elses stupidity than our own.

I find most of the $$holes on bikes are the pocket rocket rice machines - they are`nt meant to do the speed limit and I could imagine myself in alot trouble if I ever owned one. At least on the sporty 70 is really going fast and about all I will take it to - no need to go faster than that.

a name is just a name.
basically, i just feel a little offended when a man, woman, boy or girl does something in a motor vehicle that nearly causes, (or causes), me to lose control of my motorcycle.
Yes, I own a Suburban and I "cage" it from time to time, especially when going to the lumber yard, grocery store or hauling kids around. But I keep an eagle eye out for bikes at the same time BECAUSE I KNOW THAT THEY ALSO USE THE ROADS THAT MY SUBURBAN DOES.
I have seen plenty of irresponsible bikers in my time, have done irresponsible things myself, but the number of folks driving cars and trucks that seem to be absolutely unaware that there are also motorcycles on the road is F'ing astounding. Thus the term "cager". It is a helluva lot kinder handle than I usually give any driver who disregards my safety. That's for sure.

You can't fix stupid.

An 'idiot' is an 'idiot', doesn't matter if they happen to be driving a car, truck, or riding a motorcycle..

A car, truck, or bike isn't stupid on it's own, it's the person in control of the vehicle.

to be honest.....and i've said this before, all cagers who drive in any state should have to take the classroom part of the MSF course mandatory! if nothing else, it may just open your eyes a bit and make you think about it next time you venture out in your 3k lb. death machine.

Yep, "cagers" are simply those people who aren't aware of bikes, or pretty much anything else for that matter.

As far as SportBike guys being the ones who do the "most" stupid things. I would have to disagree. Yes, there are a lot of idiots on SportBikes, but just as many on open pipe cruisers.
