Alarming, Yesterday as I wheeled out the bike... my alarm went off yes I had the proximity Fob on me,but it stopped after I turned the key and put down the kick stand, Today the same thing and then in the parking lot it went off a and took forever to quit, then I remembered something in the manual about replacing the battery in the fob. Well a buck 50 later for a new battery and problem sorted,Got me thinking I should carry a spare taped under the seat.
Did you buy at HD or a stereo place - A buck 50 seems too cheap from a HD dealer - I did`nt know they had anything for a buck fifty. (kidding)
Neither I got it at the Chinese owned electrical store."they probiblly supply Harley.
I was at the dealer recentlly and a guy came in looking for a fuse one of the small ones,The dealer says we don't have stock but we'll order one for you.....
Once he left the store I told him to go to the local auto dealer where he could pick them up for a couple of cents,I could see by the look on he's face he didn't believe me,And that my friend is why the dealer can sell the same item at a inflated price.H.

What year is your bike, and how many times have you changed the FOB battery? I only ask because I have a 2005 and was thinking I should probably change out the battery (for the first time) since the manual says to change it out every two years. Seems like a short life to me since most car FOB batteries are good for life!
My bike is 2008 model so its pretty much on the two year mark, however battery life is subject to variables. As i mentioned it could be the cheapest spare part in your toolbag.
