Default Running too lean?

Hey guys, sometimes when my 1200 sportster is cold it will do a quick sputter, it sounds like its pushing air out of the carb when it happends, it only does it when its not up to operating tempature. sometimes when its hot it will make a pinging sound when you start it up. is this normal for a carbed bike? do i need to jet my carb? the bike has a K&N air filter and 1 3/4 drag pipes

once its warm it seems to run fine.

Leave the tuning alone, and let the bike warm up before riding it. Make sure you're running 91+ octane gas.

I just got my bike last weekend. The dealer stated they would fill the tank before I took it off the lot. It was running rough, looked in the tank and it was barely full. Drove it around to empty most of the tank and then went and filled it up with 93 octane!!! Ran a heck of a lot better!!! And yes you need to let it warm up before riding....best of luck
