Cool How do you clean your bike?

I was reading on another forum that s100 discolors some of the parts on the nightster??

Read here: http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/s...=640034&page=3

I have the flat army green color nightster. In the manual it says to use dish soap for cleaning flat colors. Am I reading that right? Can I use car wash soap?

Just curious to what everyone is using. I know this topic has probaly been discussed to hell and back, but I am just nervous about doing damage to the paint.

Cheers, 2008nightster.

Q: How do I clean my bike?
A: I ride in the rain.

It's a motorcycle designed to be driven outside...as long as you're not using nail polish remover or bleach, any type of soap designed to clean cars/motorcycles should be okay.

You have more possibility of paint damage by dropping your bike than worrying about what kind of soap to use.

Been using S100 on both of my bikes for over a decade with no problems....I cut it 50/50 with water and find it does just as good of a job.

My dad has a Denim Black '09 EG and the dealer told him to use Windex. I use windex for quick wipe down jobs on my vivid black Nightster too.

i usually take it too a manual car wash place ... spray water all over it for like 5 min ...
then i clean the rims and wheels ...i sprinkle shampooo on it ..i never wipe and then i wash it off with water i dry it with air pressure ...so no need to wipe with micro fibre towel...
later i use windex and microfibre cloth 2 clean fenders and tank....
and i spray a little s100 engine brightener on engine ...
use chrome brightener on exhaust ....
on the glossy parts i usually use my laptop screen spray thingy ...
its really good for anything glossy ...

p.s i have an iron

Do not use any car wash type of soap as it most likely has Carnuba waxes in them! It will ruin your denim finish!!!! Use the dishsoap as recommended or windex for paintwork. I use a microfiber to dry it off but I want a air Blaster to do it better!

I use mild soap and water then blow it off with leaf blower. Works great.
