For performance you definately want a 2 into 1. The vance and hines blackout 2 into 1 is a really nice lookin pipe and makes excellent power especially considering the reasonable price.

Pipes if i had to pick one, but maybe save up and do a nice combo all at once-that's what I did. I did pipes, PCIII with dyno tune,SE stage I and SE 10 mm wires all at once with new OEM plugs just to get a full tune up-the bike was night and day over just SE slip on's and down load that i had last year.
Go with pipes first. Then save up for intake and ECM update. You won't need to reprogram with just the pipes, but you will if you add the intake.
I guess which pipes you get is all based on what you want. Do some research. If it's performance you're looking for check dyno tests and such. Personally, I look more at how the pipes look in relation to the look of the bike I'm going for. Sure performance is important (I'm not gonna put something on that impairs performance), but in reality, if I'm looking at a performance machine, I won't be looking at a Harley.
