so I took the stock speedo mount, I cut off the speedo part, some grinding later I made it look roundish... I then drilled a 3/8 inch hole and took a stainless steel bolt and installed from the inside out.. I had to grind the head to make it flat and then used PC7 Epoxy paste to glue it (QuikSteel epoxy paste should work also) ... the idea is shown here:
I used a L shaped thick aluminum piece to secure the speedo mount to the bottom part of the left Riser bolt... but you can use a thick L shaped bracket from the hardware store.. here is the result:

Some clipping of the rubber gaskets and some internal metal stop were necessary ... nothing too difficult.. the cool thing about this mod.. besides being cheap.. it's that it seats higher.. it is very visible.. you can also tilt it and adjust the angle to your preference.. and it looks clean.. I will post more pictures later...
Note: if you raised your tank it might hit the bolts... you can use spacers to get the speedo mount farther away from the tank
