Was @ the steelership one day and this guy walks up and asks if that is my green N. "Yup it is". "Cool" he says. I got one too. Then he proceeds to tell me that a total of 261 were produced in the Olive Denim Pearl/Black Denim combo and that only 17 came to Canada. That explained why I had never seen another until that day. (
When I saw mine for sale locally, I was in love. Bought it with 2300km (1400mi) on it.
Any idea if the 08 Orange was any different than the 09? My buddy and I got into an argument that my 09 Nightster wasn't really an orange, but more of an orange-red because he said "the 08s were the only true HD Orange". Anyone know?

I wonder if you can tell, by serial # or whatever, which number N you have?

I would imagine that all the particulars of any bike produced in recent years is squirrreled away somewhere at HD, but getting someone to dig it out for you would be another story.
The serial # only tells you it's an N, displacement and the sequence #
ie: #09392 of all XLs produced that year.
Whatever the exact production #s were....it's not many.
The Light Blue Denim color was even less I think.
I've seen more blue ones than I have green. I've seen 2 green ones including mine in a year and a half. The dealer said mine was the only one they had seen come through there since the nightster came into production.
Gordon!!!! HAI!!! I'm still fairly certain that the color is different. I'm also fairly certain on the fact that either way, the orange Nightsters are fairly low production. I'm pretty sure the Olive is the rarest, followed by Denim Blue, then Orange, as was said. Either way, I still think your bike looks red dude.
I have seen a green one for sale here locally but never on the road. Most here are the black on black or the silver and black. When i was looking for mine i came across a blue one on craigslist and loved the color...so i have a blue one
