Default 883L gearbox getting "stuck"

Hi folks, I have done a search but not really found much by way of answers so thought I'd ask for a bit of advice.

Bike is 2007 XL883 Low, done just 1100 miles (approx)

I've noticed that on occasions where I have been filtering slowly through a lot of traffic, using lots of clutch control and the bike being particularly hot, the gearbox seems to get a bit "stuck" (for want of a better description).

Say I'm moving between stationary cars in 1st gear (occasionally changing up to 2nd then back down again) but then have to stop at traffic lights, I find the gear shifter absolutely will not move up. I cannot select neutral and cannot shift into 2nd either, even if I give it some brute force with my foot. Now I'm only small so may not be strong enough compared to a lot of riders, but surely this can't be right? My fella's 2006 XL1200 doesn't give him any problems like this at all.

It only seems to happen after a sustained period of slow moving and the bike being particularly hot. Gear selection is ok when moving again but the moment I come to a stop it's like it's just seized. Even when moving slowly neutral is almost impossible to find. I can only get it when stationary if I turn the bike off and then it pops in as smooth as you like.

Normal daily riding is absolutely fine and it shifts perfectly fine, although I do get some "chatter" when changing down into 1st when slowing for a junction or lights etc. but I've read that is pretty normal. Is that right?

The bike is going in for big service in 2 weeks to be stripped down to frame, all fluids done and everything checked and I'm just wondering if I need to ask the mechanic to look at anything, fix anything or adjust anything when he does the service? Is this kind of thing normal or do I need to worry?

Thanks.

First things to check are, primary tensioner, primary fluid, and clutch adjustment
