Default To Wrap Or Not To Wrap That Is The Question??

Here is the current state pic of my 48. I would like to know if I should remove the heat shields and wrap the head pipes or leave the shields on as is?? That is the Question.....

Even though I like the look I think it's a bit over done these days.That is why it'll be coming off of mine this winter.
