I'm having a bit of a problem with the final Heavy Breather install steps and was hoping somebody who's done it could help.
In the final step you have to install the adhesive ring to the chrome band clamp cover that covers the base of the filter. No problem there. I then cleaned the base of the filter with a degreaser and tried to get the chrome band clamp to stick to adhere to the filter, but it keeps popping off. The band really isn't all that sticky and I don't see how it's going to hold the cover onto the filter once the bike gets fired up.
Did anyone have to use some other means to hold the band clamp cover onto the filter base? I'm thinking of trying some 3M adhesive, but not sure if I should at this point.
Mine popped off like that too so I just put it upright with about 20lbs of wieght on it over night and that did the trick. Oh it is double sided adhesive so make sure that you peel off both sides and degrease the mating side of the filter of course.
