I have noticed that there is sometimes a small drop of oil on the starter
behind the rear cylinder. I suspect that it is coming from the exhaust flange/gasket.
Should I tighten the bolts or maybe change gaskets? Has anyone noticed the same?
Speaking of bolts, do you guys check the tightening
torque of the bolts on a regular basis?
I wouldn't mess with anything until I know where it's coming from. Snapped exhaust studs are a pain in the ***. After a long ride, go over the motor (wearing gloves[:@]) with a tissue and see if you can find where it picks up oil. Go over the whole thing starting at the top, pay attention to minor things such as the fiber gaskets up on the rocker box bolts, etc.
