My battery is about to die in my 2005 883L.
Any suggestions about which make of batteries are better or should I go for the Harley supplied unit. Maint free would be my choice.
Probably a lot about this in the archives but not much time at the moment to do any research.
O'Reilly sells East Penn motorcycle batteries which is the company that makes the HD batteries. You won't save a ton, but will save a little. If there's one more convenient than going to a dealer, then you have another option.
I used Odyssey Drycell Batteries in everything I run. Then cHarley told me that Harley batteries are now gel. I must admit it the Harley battery has been holding its own for a couple years now. Even after some major electrical issues IE: Fried Stator....... etc.
I still have the Odyssey's in my other rides, but I'll keep on using the Harley gel in my Harley's.
