I am not saying anthing derogatory about rice burners. It's not the machine that's the problem, it's some of the irresponsible nuts holding the throttle that hurt and kill people. What I AM saying is that 15 year olds are to impressionable to behave like that around them. Anyone who would run 110 with their 15 year old daughter is either trying to impress her and don't care if they kill her doing it or stretching the truth trying to impress someone else and my experience with kunt rocket riders is that either one could be the case. Yeah, everyone knows they are fast as hell, like zero to dead in two seconds.
I was riding with one that killed himself and another that came close and completely f_ _ked his bike. In both cases they were doing what a lot of crotch rocket riders do and they were showing their asses so everyone would notice them.
Do your daugher a favor and slow down at least when she's on board.

That was a nice speech and all. I am 51 I can ride and I have no one to impress. I started off with her slow. She wanted to go faster. She has the passion and is an adrenalin junkie like me. She is getting her license and probably getting my R6. She is 15 and can make her own decision within reason. She is mature enough. Her and I half talked extensively about the way my club rides. She has seen riders get hurt. She knew one of our riders who died. I keep reminder her of all this. She is OK with it. We have gone over what to do if something happens. Now.. if you want me to **** you all off even more. She has Von Willebrand disease. I'll save you the googling. It is a blood disorder that makes her blood thin. She is a St Jude patient. She is tested every year to make sure her disorder does not get worse. So noe feel free to blast me. Politics. Religion. Motorcycle riding styles.

I don't know you from Adam. I have just seen to many riders get hurt or killed, friends and strangers, and it makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck when I see bikers, on any type of bike take extreme chances, especially when someone elses life is in their hands. Have fun. I just hope we don't have to hear there has been a tragedy with your daughter. I have lost too many people that were close to me and it's always hell. Thank god I can say I was never responsible. I hate to be so dark so I'll just shut up and get off my soap box.

You are not being dark. You are being honest in how you feel. My daughter was brought up with me being a sport bike rider. In my club we accept the chances we take in out sport and the way we ride. My daughter accepts and understand the same. This is my first Harley. Its a roadster. Its meant to be ridden like a sport more than than like a Harley. That's why I bought it. I will never say anything about the way anyone rides. And I will always accept people telling me I am wrong in what I do. Again just like religion and politics.
107 according to the GPS-based app, speedo indicated around 115 or so when I could VERY briefly peel my eyeballs away from the rapidly approaching Turn 1. Felt like the bike had some left (still accelerating, slowly), but ran out of track each lap.
I was passing two cars and a truck on my just acquired 2006 1200C stage 1. I pulled from 80 klicks (50 mph). As I passed them I looked down to read 170 (105 MPH) on my speedo. It was pulling like a bear but I chickened out. The bike loves to cruse at 135 (85 mph), I tried to get up to up to 170 a couple of times since. The bike seems solid at that speed. Too much for an open face helmet to go any quicker. It's quicker than my old Goldwing and way more comfortable with the forward controls and aftermarket seat.
My guess it could easily do over 200 (125 mph).....But I an't gonna try it. Too old for that kinda thing. Nads not like they used to be!
People warned me that I would meet a lot of people like you when I started hanging out with Harley guys.
Pretty sure you'll get that everywhere there is not only squids like you. Not just a harley forum. You cant expect people to think you're cool to put your child in harms way. This forum is full of mature people so you wont get any creds for acting like an idiot.
