may sound like a dumb question but

what is the difference in the mounting for breathers between all
the different EFI systems on the different bikes Harley makes and
has anyone attempted to fit say "a dyna air cleaner on a sportster?"

I'd say the mounting brkt would be an issue since the heads are further apart on BT's.

Two different engines. You can find sportie adapters for Big twin S&S AC's but a Big twin is a Big twin...

Not sure but I would think that the larger big twin throat diameters would be something that you would have to look into first.

I have an old big twin air cleaner on mine with a Sportster mounting bracket...but I don't know if anything changes over the years.

Go to your local dealership and ask the parts guy to pull out a carb gasket for a big twin and one for a Sportster. You'll be able to compare the mounting hols on the carb (or throttle body) with those.

excellent, i did not think of that idea, do you have any close up photos of what you put on yours?
not sure what i want to do but i would really like something different and all the sportster air cleaners look the same to me.

It's the one in my sig pic...it's not a stock AC but buying them for big twins is cheaper than Sportsters for some reason.
