Two different engines. You can find sportie adapters for Big twin S&S AC's but a Big twin is a Big twin...
I have an old big twin air cleaner on mine with a Sportster mounting bracket...but I don't know if anything changes over the years.
Go to your local dealership and ask the parts guy to pull out a carb gasket for a big twin and one for a Sportster. You'll be able to compare the mounting hols on the carb (or throttle body) with those.

not sure what i want to do but i would really like something different and all the sportster air cleaners look the same to me.
