I have done some searching, some reading and subscribing to post here concerning bars, but I don't have an answer to my question.
I have (well my spouse rides it as well) 2005 X1200C. She likes the risers that are stock on the bike, but the stock bars make her shoulders roll forward. This is not good for keeping her in the saddle for any length of ride. I'm sure it can be done, but has anyone put apes (looking at 12" or so) on this bike, using the stock riser? If you have, a pic would be great.
She has also gone through a couple of saddles, none of which cured the "stretch" she has for the bars.
Yea, there are several peo[ple on here who have apes on stock risers. Personally I think it looks weird with the stock risers. Do you have the straight risers, or the pullback risers?? The pullbacks are the worse, at least I think, the lines just don't match. It makes it look like a dislocated elbow to me. But yea, several people on here have them so it's certainly not an opinion that is shared by everyone, just a personal thing I guess.

I just put 12" Z's on my otherwise stock '10 Iron. I haven't finished the wiring (new baby at home) but I will send you some pics. I feel it looks good.
I have 12" apes on straight 6" risors on my '05 Custom, you can pull up my pics to check it out, although I will be changing to 4" risors this winter to bring the bars down a bit, good luck...
I did it with my 05 1200C. I put 10.5" mini apes from a wide glide on it. It does look a little odd from the front because of the riser, but if it comes down to looks and ride quality, I dont care about the looks. The 10.5's put the bars right at my shoulders (Im 5'8") and it totally made an improvement over the ride. If you get a set of mini apes off of someone's street glide or Street bob, you can save yourself a little cash, but its all up to you. PM me if you have more questions.
